Combed cotton jersey with a dense, dry hand
The body is knitted in 95% cotton with 5% spandex. The weight is set for year-round wear in warm markets: dense enough to hold the leg flat and keep the black opaque after washing, light enough that it never reads as thermal underwear. Cotton and spandex percentages can be moved against each other for a firmer or softer hand before the first sample is cut, and the same block accepts a modal or bamboo blend if your range needs a second tier above cotton.
A 38 mm jacquard waistband that does not roll
The waistband is a 38 mm knitted jacquard stitched with a four-needle cover seam, the same block that runs under the rest of our men's range. Two complaints send men's underwear back to a buyer more than any other: a waistband that rolls at the front and a pouch that loses its shape. Both are construction problems, and both are settled before we quote. The brand name is knitted into the tape rather than printed on it, so it survives industrial washing without cracking or peeling, and the jacquard can be re-drawn with your own name and colourway at no tooling cost.
Boxer-brief length cut to stay put
The leg finishes at mid-thigh on the graded block. That is long enough to stop the ride-up that shorter trunks suffer under trousers, and short enough that nothing shows below chino shorts. The leg opening is bound so it follows the thigh instead of cutting across it, which is the difference between a boxer brief a man keeps wearing and one that goes to the back of the drawer.
Three-panel pouch and a flat-locked seat
The pouch is cut in three panels rather than two, which is what holds its shape after repeated wear and washing. Seat seams are flat-locked so no seam allowance sits proud against the skin under trousers, and the leg hems are cover-stitched rather than folded on a single needle, which stops the hem twisting in the drum.
Six stock colourways, graded L to 4XL
Black, red, teal, royal blue, slate and grey are held as stock shades on this style, each with a waistband colourway drawn to match. The standard size run is L-XL-2XL-3XL-4XL, and patterns are graded for EU, US, UK, AU and JP charts from the same block, so one approved sample covers every market you sell into. Custom shades are available from 300 kg of yarn.
Which brands this style suits
This is a volume basic rather than a fashion piece, and it earns its place in three kinds of range. Supermarket and hypermarket buyers use it as the opening price point in a men's underwear bay, usually in a two or three pack. Department store and pharmacy chains across South America take it as a year-round carry-over that does not need reworking each season. Younger direct-to-consumer labels use it as the first style in a range, because a plain black boxer brief with a branded waistband is the lowest-risk way to put a new name on a garment. If you are building a multipack, the six stock shades were chosen so any three of them sit together on a card without a colour clash.
Where a private label brand builds difference
On a garment this standard, difference is not made in the body. It is made in four places, and all four are open on this style. The waistband jacquard carries your name, your typeface and your colours, and it is the part of the garment a buyer sees on the shelf and in the mirror. The colour card decides whether your range reads as basic or considered, and custom shades start at 300 kg of yarn. The packing carries most of the perceived value: folded card, hanger, poly bag, printed box or a two, three or five pack are all specified per order. Finally, the size run itself is a positioning decision, and running to 4XL on every colour is a real point of difference in markets where the larger sizes sell out first and are rarely restocked.
What we handle before the container leaves
Every order passes AQL 2.5 inspection, an elasticity test on the waistband and mandatory metal detection before it is packed. Knitting, dyeing, cutting, sewing and packing all run inside our own Zhejiang facility, so a fabric question on Tuesday does not become a three-way conversation with a mill and a subcontractor. We handle OEM to your specification and ODM from our own blocks, and if you are moving an existing style across from another supplier we will pattern it from your physical sample rather than a tech pack alone.
MOQ, samples and lead time
Minimum order is 500 pieces per style per colour. Samples run 7 to 10 days from an approved specification, and bulk lead time is quoted against your size and colour split once the sample is signed off. Payment terms are T/T, L/C or PayPal. Send us the colourways, the size run and the packing you need, and we will come back with a costed quotation and a sample date.
